I need someone to do me a favor. I was listening to “Black Diamond” by The Replacements on the way home tonight and I had it cranked LOUD.And I noticed the tinkling sound of ice in a glass in the seconds before the guitar kicks in and the song starts. Has that been there all this time? I had a pretty serious Replacements phase and I really don’t remember that. That surely couldn’t have escaped my notice back in the day.
Have you always heard that?
And another thing, the drums were so up front in the mix…they were like cannon shots. I don’t remember that either.
